These terms are an agreement between you and Square Away LLC, a Michigan limited liability company, 3464 Hazelton Ave, Rochester Hills, MI 48307 ("Square Away," "we," "us"), and they govern your use of Square Away. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you're signing up on behalf of a shop or company, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that business.
The service
Square Away is software for running a custom woodworking or remodeling shop: quoting, proposals, invoicing, payments, scheduling, messaging, and related tools, including AI-assisted features. Not every feature described on our marketing site is live yet. We tell you plainly what's real today versus what's coming.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
Your data
Your contacts, projects, proposals, and everything else you enter belongs to you and your business. We store and process it to run the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you cancel, you can export your data before your account is closed.
Billing
Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. On top of the monthly plan, Square Away charges a platform fee on each client payment processed through the platform: 1% on bank transfers (ACH), capped at $150 per payment no matter the size, and 0.25% on card payments. Standard processing rates (currently 2.9% + 30¢ for cards) apply on top of that, same as any processor. AI credits included in your plan reset monthly and don't roll over; additional credits can be purchased separately.
You can cancel anytime from Settings. Cancellation stops future billing; we don't provide refunds for partial months already paid.
Acceptable use
Use Square Away for its intended purpose: running your business. Don't use it to break the law, harass anyone, send unsolicited spam through our messaging tools, try to access another shop's data, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
AI features
AI-generated content (captions, estimates pulled from a cut list or drawings, assistant answers) is a starting point, not a guarantee. Check anything AI-assisted before you send it to a client or rely on it for pricing.
Drawing and sketch reads. When you upload drawings, sketches, or plans, Square Away reads them and drafts a parts list and material totals. That draft does most of the work, but it is a draft: reading drawings can get sizes, quantities, and materials wrong, especially details a drawing doesn't show. You are responsible for checking and confirming every part, size, quantity, and material before anything is priced, ordered, or cut. You accept this each time you start a drawing read, and we keep a record of that acceptance. Square Away isn't liable for material, labor, or other costs that come from an unconfirmed or incorrect read.
If you connect Square Away to Claude or ChatGPT, that connection is read-only today and only ever accesses your own account's data.
Third-party services
Features that connect to Stripe, Twilio, Google, Meta, Post for Me, QuickBooks, or other outside services are also governed by those providers' own terms. We're not responsible for outages or changes on their end, though we'll do our best to keep things working.
Availability
We aim to keep Square Away running reliably, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime. We'll give notice for planned maintenance where we reasonably can.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Square Away is provided "as is." We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost profits or lost data, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Termination
You can close your account anytime. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
Changes to these terms
If we make a material change, we'll email account owners before it takes effect.
